All our ales are served straight from the cask without the use of the traditional hand pumps. This creates beer which is not tainted in colour or taste by the use of beer lines. The 6X and IPA we stock are kept in genuine oak casks.

Our chilled (12 °C) ground floor "cellar" is perfect for the storage and dispense of lagers, ales and ciders. The 6X and Henry’s IPA are served from 80 year old genuine wood barrels (like the old days!) giving the beers a more rounded, mellow taste and deeper colour.

All the real ales are served straight from the cask without the use of handpulls, allowing us to keep beer that is not tainted in colour or taste by beerlines. This is one of the reasons we are in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide and The Good Pub Guide.

Despite the new licensing laws we still hold ‘traditional’ hours, however if we are particularly busy or are holding a party or function we may serve longer.
